Creating a green living space in Poland

As part of our global "Helping with Hands" initiative, the Barenbrug Polska team renovated the area around the Self-Help House in Aleksandrów Łódzki.

A place open to all people

The environmental Self-Help House in Aleksandrów Łódzki is an institution open to disabled people and people with adaptation difficulties. Through various forms of therapy conducted in the center, these people break their limitations, which very often hinder their normal functioning.

The staff of the Self-Help House strives to create an open, family-like atmosphere, so that participants of workshops and classes feel needed and appreciated. This is a great way to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities, who in everyday life collide with misunderstanding and stereotypes prevailing in society.

The Project

Barenbrug Polska supported the arrangement of the green area around the building with their helping hands. Shovels, rakes and wheelbarrows were set in motion. After hours of heavy work they came to the part that was liked the most - sowing grass! Soon the people at the Self-Help House will be able to enjoy the nice green area around the building
